As a ceramics hobbyist, I was immediately drawn to Kara’s elegant hand-built forms the first time I stumbled across them on Instagram. (Occasionally a wheel-thrown piece will make it into her repertoire, but hand-building seems to be Kara’s preferred MO.) It was a real pleasure to get to know her a bit as we talked about her work, and as she showed me a bit of her process. Kara has this calm, graceful energy that is so enjoyable to be around.
