Interior design photography for State College designer Jennifer Hendrickson, featuring her work in the Lobby Bar of Allen Street Grill. One of my favorite spots when I want to impress out-of-town visitors. Being there feels like being in a much bigger city, Jennifer’s design work playing a large part.
Stay tuned… More to come!
Interior design photography for renowned London-based designer Wendi Wolf Lewitt. This project was located in Naples, FL. Where there are Gulf views, you’ll notice the subtle way I used lighting where needed to make sure the water views remained present, while keeping the scenes looking natural, as if no external lighting had been introduced. This is a common quality to my work. When I use studio lighting, I often keep the look very subtle. Many times it is impossible for the viewer to tell if the lighting is all ambient, or if external lighting was used.
Product and branding photography for Henro Company, a specialty candle, homeware, and gift co. A fun mix of people and things featuring founder Kristin, her lovely products, home, and family. All a part of her story and brand.
This is a perfect example of the type of client who really benefits from my multi-genre approach to photography. Kristin was able to take advantage of my expertise in product photography, family photography, branding photography, interior design photography, to cover all of these different types of shoots she needed, but with one photographer, keeping the look consistent across the board.
Food portfolio at a glance. Favorite food and beverage photos from various restaurants throughout the U.S.
The food photoshoot that led to many more to follow. I think I fell in love with photographing food when I photographed the amazing color and texture of these scallops!
I’m currently available for food photography throughout Pennsylvania and beyond.
Food photography with included interior and exterior images for State College area's newest fine dining hot spot, Flour & Stone. Flour and Stone is the new sister restaurant to beloved Pine Grove Hall, which is found right next door. The fine dining torch is being handed off from PGH to Flour & Stone, while Pine Grove Hall now offers a more casual menu.
I'm so excited about this new dining option. My husband and I enjoyed our first reservation during their soft opening, and everything was as amazing as, maybe even better than, the preview tastes I experienced during this shoot (which were truly outstanding!). Proprietor Liz Grove and her team have really brought something special to the Happy Valley table!
I can’t begin to tell you how I envy their grace and strength. I think I would photograph ballet dancers every day if I could. This shoot was really special because it was in my favorite home town- Kansas City, MO. (I feel like I have a few home towns, but this is my fave!) Dancers (now husband and wife!) Lilly and Lamin were such a joy to work with and the studio we shot in was a dream for a photographer like me with a soft spot for urban lofts.
A glimpse of equestrian life and style, with my favorite “horse girl”, Jennifer. I’ve always gravitated toward the classic, timeless look of English equestrian style (I’m looking at you, Ralph), perhaps because I’ve always loved horses, and riding. Refined, yet filled with the dust of the barn, gorgeous and contrasty neutrals, wood and leather and metal, the strength and grace of these incredible animals… it’s a lovely vibe, and a complete joy to photograph.
I’m a big fan of the coastal style of Cape Cod-based interior design firm Mackenzie & Co, founded by Angela Hamwey. This bright and inviting space was photographed using a combination of natural and studio light. Favorite elements include the organic textures and Italian artwork.
Business portrait / headshot session for State College based Jennifer Owen, principal interior designer and owner of Forma Interiors. Jennifer is a wonderfully talented designer with experience in residential and commercial interior design. I have been enjoying working with her on photographing some of her recent projects as well as this session. Her vision for transformation is truly impressive!
Photographed in my studio at the atrium in Titan Hollow, Bellefonte, PA.
The city of lights, the city of love… Photographed countless times in countless ways. Here’s mine.
I almost didn’t get these photos. Sweet friends were kind enough to let me join them on a trip they’d planned to Paris, already planning on meeting up with friends from different points of their lives. (I thought the invite came out of the blue and later realized my adorable husband floated the idea when I was out of earshot.) As the trip neared, I panicked about the cost involved and tried to back out, to sell my airfare to someone else. It didn’t work out to do so, so instead of canceling outright, I shortened my trip from several days to about two. I’ve never been so happy for something to “not work out”. Those two days in Paris were absolutely magical. So often when I travel, I don’t take a lot of photos, because I sometimes find it liberating to leave the camera behind and see the world directly with my eyes rather than through a viewfinder. In this case, I am so very glad I took the photos I did, because 2 days went by in a blur, as you can imagine, but these photos help me remember it all so clearly.
While not commissioned work, the photography of architecture and art, the documentation of a city (broadly and in detail), and a further look at my style and inspiration, is worth inclusion in this portfolio.
Gabi and the Vespa in Downtown Naples (including Hotel Escalante and Third Street South). The ultimate weekender look.
Helping models with content creation and portfolio building is a uniquely collaborative experience. I love seeing the vague ideas of a shoot take shape, often with the help of other creatives or small businesses.
The Woodruff Highlands House; two separate yet connected Airbnb spaces designed and operated by Jennifer Hendrickson Interiors in State College, PA. Jennifer strikes the perfect balance of luxury and comfort in these spaces, a perfect abode for catching a Penn State game weekend or other special event like the Central Pennsylvania Festival of the Arts, with plenty of room for friends and family to come together!
Food photography for Bleu Provence restaurant in Naples, FL. This place transports the senses!
Sometimes you need to do something creative for the soul. I made Aniya’s wardrobe, the backdrop, did her make-up, and generally had a blast creating this photoshoot with her.
Working with Chef Andy Hyde on this food photography was a lot of fun, because there was an opportunity to document some of the process, the final steps of the recipes, as well as the finished products. I find that movement of the pouring, the inclusion of his hands, those moments add such life and interest to this food photography. Plus he insists on sharing his incredible food as we shoot… what’s more fun than that?
A mix of two projects photographed for Los Angeles-based interior designer Jennifer Vaquero. Jennifer’s firm, September Workshop, maintains a young, west coast aesthetic that is relaxed and refreshing.
A handful of the images photographed for The Scout Guide Naples, Volume 10. One of 5 volumes photographed for TSG. The Scout Guide is all about showcasing the owners behind select local brands. Every shoot is different. It was really special being a part of this community, and being trusted year after year with the honor of producing this beautiful book.
The restaurant Pazzo! is full of such beautiful velvety textures and lush jewel tones. The camera just loves it.
That incredible, albeit brief, visit to Paris? It had an even quicker stop in Copenhagen, but happily with enough time to leave the airport and explore this beautiful, bike-friendly city on the sea for a wee bit. As with my Paris gallery- while this isn’t commissioned work, it is an extension of my commercial style, and so it fits. Oh, I just gave myself a chuckle thinking of my cat and the phrase “if I fits, I sits.” So here sits this pretty little gallery of a few scenes that caught my eye in Copenhagen.
Portraits of Naples, Florida Chef, Andy Hyde. Andy is a wonderful person to look to for inspiration and a jolt of energy. He is extremely passionate and a joy to watch work. His restaurant, Hyde N Chic, is a small but mighty force in the Naples restaurant scene.
Food photography for Bleu Provence restaurant in Naples, FL. Everything they serve is delightful! After this shoot, I shared the strawberry dessert with my mom, and it was the perfect end to a great shoot day!
Interior design photography for Theory Design, based in Naples, Florida. This was a model home in the highly sought-after neighborhood Talis Park. Wonderful spaces for entertaining or curling up with a good book…
Titan Hollow in Bellefonte, PA is home to Mad McIntosh Cider, and bartender extraordinaire Chloe. A truly unique dining experience can be had with the Alloy Kitchen menu. One of my favorite spots in Centre County!
I’m crazy about this one! State College interior designer Jennifer Hendrickson created an environment that is at once rustic and refined, grand yet cozy. A perfect place to unwind alone, or to invite 50 of your closest over. The wood features are rich and substantial without overpowering, and those green kitchen cabinets deserve a moment all to themselves.
Branding photo sessions are more than just headshots. They are lifestyle sessions that speak to your brand and image in a way that draws your ideal client in, giving them a sense of trust and connection, even before reaching out. Realtors like Victor find them especially beneficial for website photos, print ads, and social media content creation. As a State College branding and headshot photographer, I love helping other business owners express themselves with a visual story.
This special editorial, “Cultivating Presence”, for Luxe Interiors and Design magazine was a neat one. I was already familiar with Ran and his elegant, organic art, but I was beyond thrilled to have a chance to take a closer look inside his studio. It’s always thrilling to work with other artists. It makes me feel so inspired. Aside from his work being so unique in concept, Ran inspires one to live simply, and beautifully.
A handful of the images photographed for The Scout Guide Naples, Volume 11. One of 5 volumes photographed for TSG. The Scout Guide is all about showcasing the owners behind select local brands. Every shoot is different. It was really special being a part of this community, and being trusted year after year with the honor of producing this beautiful book.
I just love this clean and modern design by Washington D.C. interior designer Lisa & Leroy. Things of note with this shoot: Once again, there is a mix of natural light and studio light happening. The result, and my style here overall, is quite natural. There is a mix of wider room shots and tighter detail shots. I believe both are important. Especially when the details are as gorgeous as these. (That pendant light in the living room! That kitchen faucet! You get the idea.) The very stylish and minimal T.V. in the living room we left powered off, with the intent of replacing the picture on the screen in post. The image there is a photograph by an artist friend of Lisa’s and it fits the vibe perfectly. The key to superimposing an image like this in post is to not set the opacity of the image to 100, but a lesser degree. Allowing the original reflections to show through keeps it looking like the reflective surface it is.
There are so many elements I enjoy about this space, but I think the custom media wall is my favorite. Such a creative answer to the age-old question “What should I do with the T.V.?”
Interior restaurant photography for Chops Restaurant in Naples, FL. Such an elegant space!
Branding session as part of my blog feature- “The Artist Series”. I was thrilled to get to work with State College florist Mila Matyskina. Her work is simply sublime! I love her elegant, romantic, free-form designs.
Naples Illustrated is a gem in the SWFL community. I have always felt giddy at seeing my photos grace their pages and covers.
Interior design photography isn’t limited to homes. These photographs were created with Patina Collection retail store for their website, social media, and advertisements in Milieu magazine. Because this brand is a home design brand, there is some crossover into residential interior design photography, but all kinds of interiors need photography, from well-designed offices, to restaurants (which you’ll also see in my portfolio), to brick-and-mortar stores and more. If you have a beautiful space to show off, definitely do so on your website and social media! It helps potential clients see the sort of quality and tone they can expect from your brand, and is more likely to attract than the unknown.
Food photography for Grace restaurant at Carnegie House in State College, PA.
In-studio product photography for heirloom quality evening bags and bridal clutches, Bella Rosa Collection.
