State College / Bellefonte fashion / editorial / senior photoshoot, new studio space!
What a gorgeous subject to show off my new studio space, located in the atrium at Titan Hollow in Bellefonte, PA! Kynaa is a student at Penn State, and a joy to photograph. I’m so glad we were just able to get this shoot in before she left for the summer.
So, about this space… Titan Hollow is a beautiful old industrial building, once used as a metal manufacturing plant, mostly brass. Check out this video about the story of Titan Hollow and this incredible space. When T.H. visionary Angela and I met to discuss the possibility, we realized the hours I would be most likely to shoot here were the same it was most likely to not be in use with their events and entertainment schedule. The first time I saw this area, sitting alongside a huge wall of elegant yet raw industrial black metal windows, quite like the ones I’ve been saving on Pinterest for many years, I knew I wanted to shoot here. I have to pinch myself that I now have access to such a unique location for my studio photo shoots. The neat thing is, it looks amazing in its raw state, as we left it here. But it could also be transformed with backdrops for a completely different look and vibe. There is tons of space to set up lighting, though I mostly love taking advantage of the natural light- an almost ethereal quality of light that comes in- the morning light is especially sublime. Between shoots, I have a display of my work set up (and many plants because plants make everything even better). I am still getting prints in to finish out the display wall, but when it’s done I’ll show it off too, along with more photos of the space itself.
This studio is ideal for headshots, seniors, family shoots and more. And if you’re looking for a truly special event space, Titan Hollow is like no other! Find it at 2042 Axemann Rd unit 179, in Bellefonte. And don’t miss dinner, brunch, happy hour with the mouth-watering menu of Alloy Kitchen and tasty ciders and cocktails of the Mad Macintosh Cidery. The patio is now open for the season, and it is lovely.
